The work
is done on the highest quality 100% rag and archival papers or quality canvas as
dictated by medium. I use professional grade colors and materials.
- About Photographs: (Complete

now) A professional photograph is
always great to work from because of clarity, proper lighting and shadow and
intense color. In most cases these are not available. It is very important that
the image be taken at close range. When photos are taken at a distance details
are lost and it is these individual details that enable the artist to capture a
true likeness. If a portrait is to have more than one subject, they can be
super-imposed from multiple photos. The subject(S) can be placed in special
settings and can include favored toys, and other objects associated with the
pet(s). If the pet is at peace and good quality photos are not available every
possible thing will be done to capture the pet.
- I do preliminary sketches called "thumbnails" and send
the copies of these for your approval.
- Once the contract is signed, thumbnails approved and
finalized, we are in agreement and everything has been returned to me, the real
work begins. Should you choose a pet portrait placed in it's habitat or other
setting, reference can be designated and mailed to me along with the photographs
of the pet. If you have an idea and do not have accompanying reference, I can
work with you on composition. PLEASE DO NOT SEND PHOTOS OVER THE INTERNET.
- 50% of the total agreed upon fee must be sent at the
time of commission with remaining half paid at completion of artwork--you will
be invoiced. When I receive the balance due , *postage due (if applicable) and
signed invoice, the artwork will be sent to you immediately.
- About Holidays: If you have any idea that you
want to commission a portrait to be completed and presented at Holiday time
please proceed immediately. The Christmas season is hectic and each request
deserves the time and attention necessary for the optimum result. Gift
certificates are also available for commissions to be completed after Christmas.
*Postage (shipping and handling fee) for "mini", small,
or medium sizes will be $25.00. Additional charge may be added for Large and
Extra Large size shipping. Purchaser's initials: __________________________
- The time frame required for the work should be
reasonable and may vary according to workload. In order to ensure sufficient
time for special Christmas/Holiday orders, please allow plenty of time for
completion of artwork and delivery. Gift certificates are also available for
commissions to be completed after the holidays.

To commission Sydnie: Fill out the contract form providing
name, address, phone number, email, size and description etc. You may obtain a
contract here. Forward contract and photos to me.
Upon completion of the painting, you will be mailed (or emailed) a "proof" copy.
Upon approval, mail the check directly to me, then original artwork (and your
photos!) will be sent to address provided.
